It's a big question, and Emily Chadwick attempts to answer it in her thoughtful piece from the McMinnville, Oregon News Register.
I love how Emily used the work of M.F.K. Fisher, specifically her book How To Cook A Wolf, to spice up current debates about food politics, home economy, and pleasure.
It's a lot to chew on the week before Thanksgiving, and a good reminder that eating is a necessity, but eating well is a gift.
