Where My Extravagant Hunger Got Its Start

I'm thrilled to be heading to Utah later today to see my family and peddle my book.

On Saturday night I'll be at the King's English Bookstore, reading from and signing An Extravagant Hunger and enjoying a glass or two of wine. I grew up in the children's room at the the King's English, and it's amazing to think that I'll be back at my neighborhood bookstore soon, reading from my own book!

Please join me, my family, my childhood friends and a slew of neighbors, former teachers, and assorted others at The King's English on Saturday March 19th, at 7PM. I'll read first, then sign books, we'll have some wine and cheese and perhaps end the night at The Paris across the street.

I'm sure it will be entertaining to watch me field questions from people who have known me since I was a chattery little girl. I'm guaranteed to stumble over my words.

Thankfully I was more composed during two interviews in Salt Lake City newspapers this week:

From the Salt Lake Tribune

From the Deseret News

I also loved this mention of M.F.K. Fisher in the Salt Lake City Weekly.

  1. A few years ago I thought about opening a book store in Los Angeles. I read a book about "The King's English" book store for inspiration. I loved that book. What a wonderful place this book store must be! Good luck with all your book events.
